About ME
I earned a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Adrian College and an MBA from Central Michigan University. I spent 32 years working in the auto industry in both IT and Analytics, utilizing my love of data, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
In 2015, my mom was diagnosed with dementia. One of the first things I needed to take over for her was managing my parents’ personal finances. I reviewed and managed incoming mail/bills, ensured timely bill payment, organized tax documentation, reconciled bank and credit card statements and any other relevant tasks. I also coordinated with their financial planner, CPA, and attorney.
Unfortunately, my dad also was diagnosed with dementia a few years later and due to extenuating circumstances, I became his guardian and conservator. As his legal conservator, I was required to provide the court with an annual financial account of all their income and expenses. Essentially, this is a detailed report of their categorized income and expenses, accounting for every penny, and reconciling it to their bank statements. This was a time-consuming undertaking, but leaned into my love of data, detail and spreadsheets.
Throughout the years of assisting my parents, I witnessed many others who didn’t have family close by or were solo agers and had no one looking out for them. This really made an impression on me and I searched for a way to be of service to this group based on my skillset. This is when I found Daily Money Management – a financial professional who provides personal financial services to individuals and families. I know firsthand that assisting others with managing incoming mail, bills, record keeping and other areas of personal finances can help keep them safe and independent as long as possible.
I am a member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM), which requires its members to pass a thorough background check and adhere to strict ethical standards of practice. I am also professionally insured as a Daily Money Manager.
